Bosses Here is an explanation of the Command Battles in the game (otherwise known as Boss Battles) as well as some boss-fighting strategies. Boss Battles are done differently than Enemy Battles in this game. Instead of the "normal" battling, you fight by selecting commands in turn-based combat, much like a traditional RPG. Unfortunately, the boss battles aren't very well done, and the actual chances that you'll hit the enemy are pretty low. Just keep trying (or using save states like me!), and you'll get these battles over with. Here is an example of a Boss Battle:
Your commands during a Boss Battle are as follows. Punch: Physically strike the enemy with your fist. Kick: Physically strike the enemy with your feet. Item: Use an item to heal, or a special move like Mighty Ball. Run: Run away. Now WHY would you do that? Guard: Defend for 1 turn. Call: In 1 Player mode, summons a computer controlled Ryu to help you fight. Dragon Kick: Use a powerful Dragon Kick on the enemy. This command only appears if you have at least 1 "K" Mark, so save your Dragon Kicks for bosses!
Location: Water Lily Palace Description: The evil one behind all the stupidity and random "Brr, I'm a car!" quotes in Cilly City. The queen likes to slow down the battle with status ailments. She only has about 225 HP. Make sure to call Ryu for this fight, and keep using Dragon Kicks until you run out. After that, finish it off with kicks. Make sure you heal when needed! Suggested Level: Level 11 HP: About 225 Exp: 150 Sen: 180
Second Boss: Blu Boltar
Location: Emperor Chin's Palace in Yokan Description: This is that weird looking general of the Yoma Clan you had the displeasure of seeing on the screen back in the intro. He's not as tough as you might think, after those enemy battles he made you do... ack! Call Ryu at the start, and keep using Dragon Kicks for a good 40 Damage per hit. Once you run out, use any other attack. Suggested Level: Level 18 HP: About 260 Exp: 250 Sen: 250
Third Boss: Wil The Wiz
Location: Leila's Palace in the Snow Field Description: The evil wizard of the Yoma Clan who thinks he should "send you in the next world..". I'm not kidding, he said that.... Call Ryu to start, and then pummel the living (or unliving) crap out of him with Dragon Kicks for 52 damage a pop. Hit him about 6 times, and he's dead. Heal when necessary, though. Suggested Level: Level 23 HP: About 298 (I killed him at that) Exp: 150 Sen: 250
Final Boss: Demon King Gulp
Location: Mt. Cone-Rum Description: Gulp. Gotta love that name, huh? King Gulp... way better than Necron, Deus, Orgodemir, Zoma, Sidoh, or any other last boss name you could think of. This boss is very, very, very, very, very, very, very cheap! I suggest saving states, and saving states often. His stupid Whump attack paralyzes both Jack AND Ryu... and he can do it twice in a row. Your key to winning is not getting hit by the damn thing, and killing him before he kills you. Good luck! Suggested Level: Level 33 HP: About 300??? Exp: None Sen: None
Location: Random encounter in Cave to Chatzy and Cave to Snowfield. Description: Fierce Yoma Clan warriors that can deflect attacks and recover HP. They're not worth that much EXP or Sen, so you might be best to run. HP: About 200 Exp: 60 Sen: 80
Tiger Tank
Location: Random encounter in Cave to Chatzy and Cave to Snowfield. Description: Ouch... these things are really strong, mainly because of their Air Force attack.... again, it would be best to run. They drop Whirly Birds when they die, but you'll waste so much money on healing items.... it's really not worth it! HP: About 200 Exp: 80 Sen: 100
QP Fox
Location: Random encounter in Cave to Chatzy. Description: At least this thing LOOKS like a fox.... O_o... Pretty easy to kill, but not worth much. Why bother? HP: About 150 Exp: 40 Sen: 40
The Bishop
Location: Random encounter in Cave to Snowfield. Description: Umm... no comment. You tell me what he looks like. I'd say it looks nothing like a bishop. Again, not really worth fighting. HP: About 250 Exp: 100 Sen: 100
